Synopsis
Tab aldrig troen. Mist aldrig modet! Den prisvindende instruktør David O. Russell (Flirting with Disaster, Three Kings) har skabt THE FIGHTER – den sande historie om to professionelle boksere, Dickie (Christian Bale) og Mickey (Mark Wahlberg), halvbrødre, men på vej i to meget forskel¬lige retninger! Den ældste bror Dickie har talentet og troen, men mangler dømmekraften, og det sender ham snart mod afgrunden. Da han misser chancen mod en af tidens største boksere, bliver det første skridt ned af en blindgyde af stoffer og vold – en livsstil, der frarøver ham hans karriere og sender ham direkte i fængsel! I mellemtiden har lillebror Mickey fået ry for at være den mest ihærdige bokser – med de mest ydmygende nederlag! Hans drøm om at bokse for¬svinder dog aldrig, og da Dickie vender tilbage fra fængslet, gør han det til sin livsmission at forvandle sin lillebror fra den evige taber… til en verdensklasse FIGHTER!!
