THE LAST STAND
Synopsis
Sherif Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) lever et stille liv i den søvnige grænseby Summerton Junction, efter at have trukket sig tilbage fra sit job hos Los Angeles Politi. Overvældet af nederlaget efter en fejlslagen operation som invaliderede hans partner, forlod han L.A. korpset. Efter en spektakulær flugt fra en FBI konvoj, ræser den mest eftersøgte og berygtede narkobaron på den sydlige halvkugle mod grænsen med 200 kilometer i timen, i en special udstyret bil med et gidsel og et slæng af hårdkogte bandemedlemmer. Med kursen sat direkte mod Summerton Junction har den samlede politistyrke et sidste forsøg til at stoppe ham, inden han forsvinder over grænsen. Owens deltager først modvilligt i operationen og udelukkes efterfølgende, da hans politikorps regnes for udueligt, for til sidst at acceptere sit ansvar for den afgørende duel.
